Michaela Cook – also known by her stage name, ‘Micks’ [Google search: ‘Michaela Micks Cook’] – is an Australian recording artist/songwriter, tv presenter, social media personality, commercial model, and entertainment influencer. After starting her media career as a recording artist, Michaela has reshaped her personal brand to align within the ‘Tourism/Lifestyle’ niche.
Recently included by the Courier Mail in, 'Brisbane's Top 25 A-List Influential Women', Michaela has positioned herself as a Tourism and Lifestyle influencer, partnering with global brands and government bodies alike The Hilton, Marriott, Visit Britain, Marketing Manchester, Major Events Gold Coast, and Tourism and Events Queensland, providing her followers an insight into tourism and hospitality experiences and trusted reviews.
As a recording artist/songwriter, Micks has appeared on the Australian and United States Official Music Charts, and received International Radio Airplay across the Americas, the United Kingdom, Australia (Country radio), and Europe.
Whilst being considered ‘too mainstream’ by the Australian country-music institutions and ‘too country’ for the Australian mainstream media channels, Micks was forced to forge her own path independently. The social media personality fused wholesome country music values with her mainstream pop-image and in the process has amassed over 1.5M social media followers, naturally stepping into the entertainment influencing and blogging space. Focusing on promoting the actions of kindness, inclusion and acceptance; Micks continues to cultivate a loyal supporter base mostly located within Australia, the United States, and India, who enjoy being part of her positive online community, #TeamMicks.
The TV presenter recently launched an online tourism web-series, "Micks Steps In," which is a unique lifestyle show combining the excitement of travel and tourism adventure with the enticement of the host’s day-in-the-life reality. Michaela has blended her love for engaging with her online audience and passion for storytelling through showcasing one-of-a-kind experiences and providing behind the scenes insights. Aiming to show her audience where to, ‘Stay, Play, & Slay,’ find their next day-out, or add a new experience to their bucket list, "Micks Steps In," has evolved beyond its initial concept of simply providing much needed spotlight on local tourism post-pandemic, into a high energy and fun lifestyle series.
The web series is released to Michaela’s social media audiences, as viewership demand and popularity focused the Micks Collective Productions team to concentrate on short-format showcases. Michaela recently travelled across the United Kingdom and Europe for a 5-week tour to collaborate within three key-sectors of her target market. Through a key partnership with Marketing Manchester, Michaela was invited to showcase global brands such as Manchester United Football Club, the National Football Museum, and highlight the buzzing art, culture and hospitality scenes across the city. Moving on from England, Michaela was invited by global wine brand, AIX Rose, to visit their working wine farm in Aix-En Provence, France, share their story, and begin a relationship for further collaborations with APAC being one of the brand's largest distribution regions. Michaela also attended the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix, where she dined track-side and danced VIP at the Taylor Swift Era's Tour in Edinburgh. Collectively from her "Micks Steps In" and social media showcases, Michaela reached over 1M+ peoples within her top demographic areas of Australia, India, United Kingdom and the United States. Using this momentum, Michaela has retuned to Australia to continue showcasing domestic tourism and lifestyle businesses.
Across 2020-2022, Micks continued to be featured in media outlets alike The Rolling Stone (IN), achieve two back-to-back no.1 Australian singles, and release a podcast debuting on the Australian and Indian podcast charts, "The Micks Collective Podcast." In September 2022, Michaela was ranked #72 on the Australian Influencer Index by The Oz (#40 Female), a subsidiary of Newscorp’s The Australian Newspaper, and announced as a finalist for the Gold Coast Woman of the Year 2022. Flash forward to November 2023, Michaela was featured in The New York Times after a strong year of solidifying her transition from a music to media personality on the world-stage.
Michaela actively uses her platform to voice worthy causes, previously collaborating with the White Ribbon Foundation, Variety Children's Foundation, and has been a proud RSPCA QLD Ambassador since 2015.
Beginning her media career as a child commercial model, Michaela is continuing her on-screen presence by appearing, hosting, and performing on various national TV shows across Australian national-networks Channel 7 and Network 10, focusing her efforts to pivot towards full-time TV presenting, commercial modelling, and acting roles.
Michaela is a proud female business owner (KMC Records and the Micks Collective Productions) and is hoping to encourage other creatives to trust their instincts in forging their own path.
